What is The Galena Territory?
The Galena Territory is a semi-private, residential, recreational and resort community located in the northwest corner of the State of Illinois, near the historic city of Galena. Designed to maximize the rugged terrain of the surrounding area, the Territory’s acres boast spectacular vistas, valleys, prairies, woodlands, plant and bird species found nowhere else in Illinois. With a commitment to protecting and preserving this natural environment, The Galena Territory was designated a Community Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation in 2010.

What time is check-in or check-out?
Check-in is 4p.m. and check-out is 11a.m. These times may be flexible dependent upon our schedule. Please call the number listed in the welcome letter or home to inquire about an early arrival or late departure. THESE CANNOT BE CONFIRMED MORE THAN 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE.
What is the payment schedule?
30% of the rental amount is required upon booking. Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to check-in date.
What is your refund policy?
Your first payment may be refunded if the reservation is cancelled 2 weeks prior to the arrival date, less a $35 processing fee. There are no refunds after full payment is received.
What is maximum occupancy and what determines this number?
Occupancy is determined by the size of the home, the septic system, the driveway and other factors determined by Jo Daviess County. Each home’s occupancy is listed in it’s description. All guests count towards the occupancy total, even children.
What is a proximity card and where is it located?
A proximity card is a credit card size card that contains smart chip technology that electronically opens doors at the GTA Owner’s Club. You will need one proximity card per person to access the GTA Owner’s Club. The club is the location of the indoor swimming pool, business center, fitness center, indoor basketball court and seasonal outdoor pool. Children 5 and under do not require a card. The cards are located within each home for your use. There is a $50 per card fee is lost or damaged. If the home does not have enough cards for your group you can purchase a temporary daily guest pass at the Owner’s Club Administrative Office.
What amenities are standard in our vacation homes?
The following amenities are standard to all homes unless specifically noted in the home’s description:

Complimentary WiFi (speeds vary)
Bed Linens/Pillows/Blankets/Towels
Coffee Maker/Toaster/Blender/Crock Pot
Dishwasher/Microwave
Dishes/Silverware/Glasses for total occupancy
Heat and Central AC – Some portable AC’s have been added in some larger homes
Washer/Dryer/Iron/Ironing Board/Hair Dryer
Gas grill w/additional propane at every home
Firewood is provided for homes with wood burning fireplaces
Where do I dispose of garbage?
Unfortunately there is no garbage service in the Galena Territory. Our cleaning fee includes disposal of 2 cans of garbage in bags, additional garbage will need to be disposed of at the nearest refuse facility. A guest failing to do so will incur a $25 disposal charge. There are two locations to dispose of garbage, The Mt Hope Refuse Center and another near The Shenandoah Riding Center. You will need to bring a proximity card to access either of these facilities.
Smoking IS NOT Allowed in any of our homes. Fines will be assessed if evidence is found to be present during or after stay.
Only Pet Friendly homes allow dogs. If you are unsure if your home is pet friendly please ask. Failure to comply will result in fines for damage and evidence of pets during your stay.
Primary Guest must be 25 years of age or older and present during entire rental stay.
